Horses to Watch – 19/11/25

I’M A STARMAN – 15:10 Warwick @ 14/1*

Veteran 12 year old with 8 wins over hurdles to his name, including a course and distance win just 6 months ago shows he’s still got some class left in him. Completed an impressive 4 wins a row between April and June of this year, though the runs since have not been nearly as impressive. As a result he appears well treated in the weights, being 3lbs lower than his last winning mark and Callum Pritchard on board taking off a further 5lbs is another bonus. Enough to suggest he has one last big run in him and is proven here.

TOP OF THE CLASS – 16:05 Kempton @ 16/1*

This mare is a 3-time winner over the 1 mile, all here at Kempton, including victory here back in February. She has not won since but has had plenty of competitive runs in that time, some of which in Class 4 company. Back in Class 5 this time in which she won that race over course and distance towards the start of the year. Alongside the impressive form there is Jack Callan in the saddle, who not only is claiming 3lbs here but has been in good form of late, with a 32% strike rate to his name over the past 14 days. If she can find her best like she usually does at this track, current market odds are very attractive.

TWO TEMPTING – 17:40 Kempton @ 10/1*

I was extremely impressed when he won a Class 2 contest with ease at Chester back in May, but he hasn’t really kicked on since and hasn’t scored since. However, there have been a couple of encouraging runs of late, with a 2nd and 3rd place coming in his last 3 runs. He is also no stranger to winning on the all-weather, including a course and distance win here. This looks a very competitive race on paper, but his last run at Southwell was very encouraging when missing out by less than a length at 10/1, he also beat rivals he will face again here, including the well fancied Dividend. If he can build on recent form he should be right in and amongst things at the front end of the field.
