GALLEY POINT – 14:05 Roscommon @ 7/4*
I don’t often spend much time looking into the Irish markets, due to the extremely unpredictable nature of racing over there with the much larger (and often competitive) fields compared to what we see here in the UK. That being said, I think there could be value in what is already a heavily tipped favourite with this one. Massively improved second time out for this 3-year-old colt, and the competition in this race looks lackluster to say the least. Unless one of the others finds major improvement, a performance on the level of his last run at Killarney should be enough to win this. It would be surprising if he doesn’t go off odds on.
SANIYAATS STAR – 14:22 Musselburgh @ 11/2*
Two runs last month at Haydock were encouraging, especially when finishing just a length behind the winner in second in the first of those two runs. Though those were both class 5s and he will entertain class 3 company here, he has shown enough in those nursery runs to warrant respect here. Oisin Orr is in good form of late too, with a strike rate of 14% over the past two weeks. Each-way claims at the very least in the current market.
ROCK MELODY – 15:52 Musselburgh @ 5/1*
Looking to make it a hattrick in this race having won this race the past two years, in 2023 at 9/1 off 9st 1lb and last year at a massive 20/1 (8st 12lbs). She is 3lbs better off than her winning mark last year, and with the inform Amie Waugh (23% strike rate last 14 days) claiming another 3lbs, its impossible to write her off this time around. Whilst she has not won since this race 12 months ago, there have been competitive runs and several places since, and given how much she loves this race she could go well again. Three places available in this 7-runner field making the current price worth an each-way play.
