MAGNOLIA – Kelso 14:39 – 6/1*
Disappointing last time out when nowhere as the 2/1 favourite at Musselburgh, but before that won back-to-back races at this track to kickstart her season in style. As a result she is carrying top weight by quite some distance, but this is eased by Joshua Thompson claiming 7lbs who has ben in the saddle for her two previous runs. Providing that last run a month ago was merely just a blip and she can produce an effort more like those two at Kelso earlier, market odds look generous.
CALLIN BATON ROUGE – Doncaster 15:20 – 20/1*
This mare has had a busy 2025 so far with little to shout home about, but this had led to her now being 3lbs lower than her last winning mark. She has struggled on slower ground of late, but the ground should suit her much more this time around. Certainly didn’t embarrass herself last time out in Class 3 company when 6th of 10, though dropping back down into Class 4 here is likely more her level.
FRANCESI – Newcastle 17:45 – 11/2*
Despite only winning 2 of 48 starts, this 6-year-old is normally always there or thereabouts, with five top 3 places from her previous six race starts. Won very handsomely two starts ago over course and distance here when 12/1, and the form from that race since suggests more wins should be imminent. Went close last time out at Wolverhampton, and given recent form the current odds are very appealing indeed.
