Would probably prefer softer ground given her two wins over hurdles have come on soft and heavy ground, though she has had some competitive runs on quicker ground, with two second places on good ground last spring. Has been disappointing so far this year, but as a result is now off a handy mark and there’s enough to suggest current market odds are rather generous.
DANDY DINMONT – 16:13 Newcastle – 11/2* EW
Course and distance winner here but that was well over a year ago and is the sole win on the all-weather in his career so far. Has tasted success more recently on the turf at Thirsk when winning at 14/1. All four previous races have been at this track, with form in those races reading 3245 so he has been knocking on the door. Plenty to suggest he can go better this time around thus current price looks to be good value.
RAINWATER – 17:00 Southwell – 17/2* EW
This horse has proved handy at both 1m and 7f, with the choice here to drop back in trip where last time he finished 2nd. That was in a Class 5, dropping into Class 6 company and now off the mark he’s won twice from already, points to his chances being significantly greater than the market currently suggests.
